What is a lifestyle family photo session?

Have you noticed that I rave on about in-home family photos? Lifestyle photography is an easy-going and candid approach, different from traditional family photos taken in a photographic studio.

The goal is to capture authentic moments of your family in an everyday life setting. These are often photos of you interacting with your baby or playing with the kids, not always looking at the camera and smiling.

You get to pick the location! Think about a space that you and your family love, somewhere you often hang out or somewhere that makes you happy. It might be outdoors in the garden or a trip to your favourite park or ice-cream shop!

I personally love using your home as the location, especially if you have a newborn baby or a toddler who is shy. It’s a space that is personal to your family, so in years to come your little one can see the home they grew up in.

These lifestyle sessions are a favourite of mine because they are very relaxed and stress free for families, perfect if you have children. I offer a 1 hour shoot for $400 (it’s a little extra if you’re located out of Wellington city). You’ll receive 40-60 images like the ones in this post. These sessions are available all year round, so you can pick a suitable time to update your family photos.
